Hidden Himalayas Motorcycle Expedition: Ride Beyond the Ordinary

There are few better places in the world to begin a motorcycle expedition than Pokhara. Nestled on the shores of Phewa Lake and surrounded by the snow-covered Annapurna range, this vibrant mountain city sets the tone for the extraordinary adventure ahead. Upon arrival at Pokhara International Airport, the BRM team welcomes you before transferring you to our premium lakeside hotel. In the afternoon, you'll meet the RE Himalayan 450 for a handover and safety briefing before a familiarisation ride to Pumdikot Viewpoint, revealing panoramic vistas of Phewa Lake and the snow peaks.

The real adventure begins as we leave Pokhara behind and ride north into the legendary Kali Gandaki Valley—one of the world’s deepest river gorges and an ancient trade route connecting India and Tibet. The day starts on smooth mountain highways before gradually transitioning onto broken roads, gravel sections, and rugged terrain. Along the way, we stop at the spectacular Rupse Waterfall and detour to tranquil Titi Lake before arriving in the charming Thakali village of Kalopani beneath Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri.

Today, the expedition enters the legendary Kingdom of Mustang, where lush forests give way to windswept valleys, colourful cliffs, and a spectacular high-altitude desert. If road conditions permit, we ride off-road to hidden Sekong Lake, continue to the apple capital of Marpha, visit sacred Dhumba Lake and climb to Jomsom View Tower. After lunch at Yak Donald's in Kagbeni, we conquer the final climb to sacred Muktinath (3,800m), one of Nepal's holiest pilgrimage sites.

The day begins with a visit to sacred Muktinath Temple, where Hindu and Buddhist traditions have coexisted for centuries. Leaving Muktinath, we descend through the legendary Kali Gandaki Gorge. We pause at the Guru Rinpoche Viewpoint, return through Marpha for lunch, and continue losing altitude as rugged desert gives way to lush forests and waterfalls. By late afternoon, we arrive in Tatopani to unwind in the soothing geothermal hot springs beside the roaring river.

Following the Kali Gandaki River south, the landscape transforms into lush forests, terraced farms, waterfalls, and charming villages. The road winds through Dana and Beni with smooth mountain curves. A highlight is Kushma, home to Nepal's famous engineering marvel—the Kushma Suspension Bridge—and an optional bungee jump. We return to lakeside Pokhara for a relaxed afternoon, museum visit, and cafe stroll, marking the transition between Mustang and the Annapurna Circuit.

With the Mustang adventure completed, a new chapter begins as we enter the world-famous Annapurna Circuit. Leaving Pokhara, we follow the mighty Marsyangdi River through lush forests and gorges. After Besisahar, the paved highway ends and the legendary Annapurna off-road section begins: gravel tracks, rocky trails, suspension bridges, and cliffside shelves. By late afternoon, we arrive in the picturesque riverside village of Tal, nestled between towering cliffs with waterfalls cascading from above.

Today is one of the most demanding and rewarding rides of the expedition. We climb steadily through dense forests, deep gorges, and remote mountain villages along the Marsyangdi River. As the valley opens into the spectacular alpine region of Manang, towering snow-covered peaks surround the route. We explore historic Braga Monastery before arriving in the stone village of Manang, where cosy cafes and Himalayan bakeries welcome weary riders.

A slower morning lets you absorb the magic of Manang. We visit stunning Gangapurna Lake, where turquoise glacial waters reflect towering peaks, then begin our descent along the Annapurna Circuit from a new perspective. We stop at crystal-clear Blue Lake, ride through fragrant pine forests and apple orchards with cider tasting, and arrive in the mountain town of Chame nestled beside the river.

We leave the rugged Annapurna region behind and descend into Nepal's rolling green middle hills. Rejoining smooth winding highways, we ride up to the ridge town of Bandipur, once a thriving post on the ancient India-Tibet trade route. Famous for its restored Newari architecture, cobbled pedestrian streets, and boutique cafes, Bandipur provides a peaceful, timeless contrast to days of rugged mountain trails.

Today's short, relaxed ride brings us back through rolling hills to Pokhara. We visit the International Mountain Museum, enjoy a peaceful afternoon boat ride on Phewa Lake under the reflection of Machhapuchhre, and gather for our celebratory Grand Farewell Dinner to relive the unforgettable memories of riding 1,100 km across Mustang and the Annapurna Circuit.

After a leisurely breakfast overlooking Phewa Lake, enjoy a final stroll along the lake before our team transfers you to Pokhara International Airport for your flight home, taking with you memories of a lifetime.
